Hon. Dapo Okubadejo, The Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, went on yet another tour of ongoing road construction projects in and around Ijebu Ode on Saturday March 8, 2025.

He was accompanied by the Ijebu Ode Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Hon Adenaike Clement Olusesan , SSA Finance (Revenue) to the Governor, Hon Wale Kuku APC Ijebu Ode Local Government Party Chairman, Alhaji Surajudeen Omo Logere  and other party faithfuls

The inspection tour of projects is part of his responsibilities as the Chairman of the Ogun State Tenders Board.

The tour provides first hand information through on-the-spot assessment of the speed and quality of the construction works.

The inspection tour also provides an opportunity to interact with the contractors  to understand better the challenges being faced during construction and how these problems can be resolved timely to meet the set deadlines.

During the tour to Awokoya - Elebute road and the Ijebu-Ode stadium junction to Luba Comprehensive school - Erunwon junction road, the team gained first hand knowledge of the progress made so far and deliberated on solutions to some of the problems being faced by the contractors.

Overall, we are satisfied with the pace of the projects and quality of work done in line with the project scope. The Commissioner was very pleased with the promises from the contractors to deliver the projects on time and on budget.

The Chief Economic Adviser pleaded with the residents living in and around the locations of these projects to cooperate fully with the contractors and provide support and assistance during the construction period as required.

He encouraged our people to refrain from dumping refuse and waste in the culverts and drains during the rains as these block the channels and cause erosion which can damage the roads.

He further implored the people of Ijebu Ode to judiciously put these infrastructures to good use as this will improve accessibility and ease of doing business through reduction in logistics and transportation costs as well as improvement in business profits and value of properties within the affected areas.

The Commissioner informed the general public of the new road projects recently approved by the Ogun State Executive Council in and around Ijebu Ode to complement the network of roads being constructed in the town.

The newly approved roads include the Osinubi Street to New Road junction, Abeokuta road to Obalende and Tam Balogun street to Conference hotel junction, GRA. The contractors will soon mobilize to commence these projects as soon as possible.

He used the opportunity to thank His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, MFR, CON, for his vision and commitment towards economic transformation of the State through massive infrastructural development across the length and breadth of the State.
