Funsegbuwa Ruling House Holds Crucial Meeting Pending Upcoming New Awujale Installation

The Funsegbuwa Ruling House recently convened a significant meeting at the Tunwase Royal Event Hall in Ijebu Ode, with prominent sons and daughters of the family in attendance. During the meeting, a "New Family Order" in the form of a communique was agreed upon, which includes putting on hold all activities related to scouting and presenting potential new royal candidates for the upcoming installation of the next Awujale of Ijebuland.

The decision to put activities on hold is in respect of the mourning period for the late Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON Ogbagba Agbaotewole II. According to the family, tradition and law dictate that no steps toward selecting a new monarch should be taken until at least three months of mourning have been observed. Any move before then would be considered premature and disrespectful to the memory of the late king.

The Funsegbuwa Ruling House emphasized the importance of fostering unity within the family lineage during this mourning period. They called on all factions, including the Dr. Hassan group, the Dokun Ajidagba group, and any others, to come together and reconcile their differences in the interest of the family's collective progress.

The family refuted other unwarranted sprouting misrepresentation in the public domain tainting the family's image negatively and that they are equally baffled by certain individuals claiming to be from the same Funsegbuwa Ruling House and attempting to signal the emergence of the next ruling house to present a candidate for the Awujale of Ijebu land with the beaten of Gbedu Drums. They described such actions as premature and inappropriate, given the town's ongoing mourning period.

The meeting was attended by prominent Obas, including Pastor Prince Bola Salami, Secretary Chief Fassy Yusuf, and other esteemed family members. Engr. Oke provided insight into the ongoing court case, while Otunba Hassan was reportedly out of the country. Some attendees expressed their views on the importance of unity and reconciliation within the family.

The Funsegbuwa Ruling House will reconvene after the mourning period to discuss further steps toward selecting a new Awujale. The family is expected to work together to identify a suitable candidate and ensure a smooth transition process.

The Funsegbuwa Ruling House's decision to put activities on hold during the mourning period demonstrates their commitment to respecting tradition and law. The call for unity and reconciliation within the family lineage is a crucial step toward ensuring a harmonious and successful transition process.

Prominent people in attendance include prominent Obas , Elders, Prince and Princess, etc featuring  Chief Fassy Yusuf, the Baagbimo of Ijebu Land, His royal Highness, Oba Sikiru Kayode Okuribido.
