Women Declare Readiness for More Leadership Position and Continuous Support for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ISEYA Agenda
In an extraordinary display of political consciousness, Odogbolu women under the visionary banner of D.A. 2027 Project gathered in solidarity at Odogbolu Town to declare their readiness for deeper political participation in national politics starting from their respective wards, constituency and local government base.
While aligning their voices with the progressive values of His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Executive Governor of Ogun State, though not directly initiated by the Governor, the movement is a resounding endorsement of his transformative ISEYA mantra, which has successfully repositioned Ogun State as Nigeria’s emerging development hub.
Convened by the indefatigable Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Oyinkansola Cole, Commissioner III of the Ogun State Judicial Service Commission, the event served as a rallying point for women across various strata aimed with determined mindset to stimulate engagement, empowerment, and elevate one another for whatever that involves politicking while demanding their respective rights concerning constitutional obligations quotas for related women in accordance to portfolio that they merit.
Key Speakers that include, Otunba Aderonke Kolade Carew AKA MAMA RONTEX, a frontline gender advocate and political strategist, stressed the need for intentional investment in women by political power brokers and for women to boldly claim their spaces.
Hon. Atinuke Bello, in her ever-charismatic style, moved the audience with a passionate appeal for women to rise with one voice and shape the politics of 2027 and beyond.
Mrs. Brown, an apex female leader in the state, spoke eloquently on the strength of collective vision and why Ogun women must consolidate their efforts.
Hon. Ireti Adenugba, Senior Special Assistant to the Senate President on Legislative Matters, spoke powerfully on timing, purpose, and the need for women's full participation in Nigeria’s political narrative.
She subsequently challenged each woman present not to fold their arms in akimbo but to actively take bold steps and work their faith to actualise their desired dreams politically and otherwise in other field too
Special Remarks came from other leaders present with the most exalted version came from Pa Kalejaiye, who was a member of the Ogun State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) from Odogbolu axis. In his delivery of a rousing tribute to the movement he emphasized that, “This initiative is unprecedented in the political history of Ogun State,” as noted. He thus lauded the visionary women behind it and urged consistent momentum.
In her gracious role as Chairperson of the Day, Chief (Mrs.) Bisola Diya, wife of the Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, expressed appreciation to all participants. She described herself as not only a chairperson but also “a sister, daughter, and ally in the women’s political movement.” She further inaugurated 15 Ward Coordinators across Odogbolu LGA, urging them to see their role as a sacred trust to advance the cause of Ogun women in leadership.
Also giving a voice of unity was the APC Women Leader of Odogbolu Local Government, who called on all women to drop barriers and unite. “Only through unity can we truly attain relevance. Let us come together as one, and the doors of opportunity will be opened unto us,” she said.
