Ogun NUJ Set to Commission Free Internet Facility for Journalists

The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is set to commission a free internet facility at its Secretariat, in a move aimed at enhancing the productivity and efficiency of journalists across the state. The initiative underscores the Council’s commitment to providing a conducive working environment for media professionals.

The facility is generously donated by Chief Gbenga Oso, a philanthropist and childhood friend of the Chairman of the Ogun NUJ, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju. His gesture reflects both his goodwill and continued support for the growth and development of journalism practice in Ogun State.

According to the Council, the donation is part of activities marking Chief Oso’s ongoing 50th birthday celebration. It also serves as a show of solidarity and encouragement for the current NUJ leadership under Comrade Olanrewaju.

The commissioning of the internet facility is scheduled to take place at 3:00 p.m. at the NUJ Secretariat. The event is expected to attract members of the union, stakeholders, and well-wishers who will witness this significant milestone.

With the installation of this 24-hour internet service, coupled with the existing solar-powered electricity supply at the Secretariat, journalists can now work seamlessly round the clock without interruption, thereby improving news gathering and dissemination.
