HON DARE ALEBIOSU HOSTS COMMISSIONER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT & CHIEFTAINCY AFFAIRS, SEEKS COLLABORATION WITH NOUN TO ENHANCE INTELLECTUAL CAPACITY




The Executive Chairman of  Ijebu Ode LGA Local Government, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, today played host to the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiu Hamzat, at the Itoro Council Secretariat.


In his welcome remarks, Hon. Alebiosu expressed profound appreciation for the Commissioner's visit, describing it as a significant gesture of support. He used the opportunity to advocate for increased state government presence at the grassroots, emphasizing the need for strengthened collaboration to further enhance local governance and development.


Responding, Hon. Hamzat commended the Chairman’s leadership and reaffirmed the Dapo Abiodun-led administration’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development. He highlighted the state government's ongoing intervention programs in health, infrastructure, and other sectors, which he noted are already yielding tangible results across local communities.


Also at the Itoro Secretariat today, Hon. Alebiosu received the Olorituns-in-Council of Ijebu-Ode. The community leaders applauded the Chairman’s proactive governance, particularly his swift and decisive action in addressing the activities of gas vendors in the wake of the recent explosion at Ita-Lapo. They described the intervention as timely and commendable.


In response, the Chairman assured the delegation of his administration’s continued commitment to infrastructural development, including road construction, renovation of public schools, enhanced waste management, and improved security architecture.


In a related development, Hon. Alebiosu received the management team of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Awa Campus, led by the Centre Director, Dr. Olufunke Osikomaya, and Dr. Adebayo Adebanjo, Head of Advocacy. The visit was part of efforts to forge a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing intellectual competence and workforce productivity among civil servants in the local government.
