Ijebu Ode, Ogun State – May 15, 2026 — In a significant political development ahead of the 2027 general elections, Hon. Rasak Oluwakemi Daddah (Ase Oluwa ni) has emerged as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency.

The decision followed extensive consultations involving party leaders, stakeholders, and delegates across Ijebu Ode, Ijebu North East, and Odogbolu Local Government Areas, in what party insiders described as a unity-driven political realignment aimed at strengthening the party’s electoral chances.

According to party sources, the consensus arrangement was reached after a series of strategic meetings designed to prevent internal rivalry and present a united front for the constituency.

A CONSENSUS BUILT ON EXPERIENCE AND GRASSROOTS STRENGTH
Hon. Daddah is a known political figure in Ogun State, having previously served as Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government, Chairman, Board of Market Development, and Immediate Past Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Beyond public service, he is also widely recognized in the business sector as a logistics and commodities entrepreneur with nearly three decades of experience spanning agriculture, transport, oil and gas, and general merchandise.

He once served as Group Managing Director of Sheriff Investment Ltd, Lagos, a company with operations across Ogun, Ondo, and Oyo States, with over 40 distribution channels and partnerships with major brands including PZ Wilmar, BUA Rice, Dantata, OLAM, and others.

Party members describe him as a “bridge between street economy and structured governance,” citing his deep involvement in major markets such as Daleko, Oke-Arin, Ojuwoye, and Apogbon, as well as his participation in international trade platforms across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

PARTY UNITY MESSAGE
APC leaders in the constituency said the consensus decision was necessary to avoid intra-party conflict and strengthen electoral positioning.

One senior party leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said:
“This is about strategy. We needed someone with experience in governance and deep grassroots connection. Hon. Daddah brings both. The party is more united now than ever.”

Another party stakeholder described the decision as “a balancing of political structure, loyalty, and capacity.”
