Group Applauds As Sen Adeola Pledges To Restore Electricity To Ogun Waterside After 17 Years
A socio-cultural organization, Riverside CountryHome, has commended Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) for pledging N1 billion to restore electricity to the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area several years after.
Senator Adeola, who represents the Ogun West Senatorial District and serves as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, announced the intervention during a strategic meeting with local political leaders and community stakeholders.
The massive electrification project is scheduled to launch within the next three weeks.
Baaroyin Dayo Rufai, President of Riverside CountryHome, labeled the N1 billion donation "a landmark intervention". Rufai emphasized that the severe lack of electricity had strictly hindered regional growth for over seventeen years.
"This intervention is a welcome development and a major relief for our people," Rufai stated, while he urged local residents to cooperate fully with engineering teams and relevant authorities to ensure the project meets its three-week rollout timeline.
In his own view, Mr Adebowale Sunday, the Secretary of the group showered encomium on the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in Ogun state, expressing hope the electrification project will come back to life within the specified period.
He however tasked all sons and daughters of the local government area to be pro-active in providing security for the project.
Local community leaders have shared widespread optimism that the funding will permanently end the area's prolonged darkness.
